Let me explain.⁣

Kids Corner is a program that was created and is led by me, and focuses on social-emotional learning and physical activity. I have 2 groups. The Junior Group is for kids 5-7 years olds, and the Senior Group is for kids ages 8-10. Both groups take place on Zoom. The Junior group is twice a week for 45 minutes, and the Senior group is once a week for 1 hour, 15 minutes.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼:⁣ ⁣ - Share their ideas, thoughts and feelings with others⁣ - Interact with other kids their age⁣ - Learn ways to regulate their emotions⁣ - Let out their energy and express themselves through dance and movement ⁣ ⁣ 𝙄𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝗠𝗘, a Special Education Teacher with 10+ years of experience working with kids.⁣ ⁣ 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴?⁣ ⁣ Let me help you understand what it’s all about by addressing this comment I often get from parents:⁣ ⁣ “𝙈𝙮 𝙠𝙞𝙙 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙯𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜”⁣ ⁣ —> Here’s how Kids Corner differs from virtual school:⁣ ⁣ - The focus is on social-emotional learning, and 𝗡𝗢𝗧 on the academic subjects ⁣ - It’s a small, intimate group of 8 kids maximum⁣ - One of the main goals is for kids to get to know each other better (meaning they get to talk to each other)⁣ - We have several movement breaks- kids will be very active and interactive ⁣ ⁣ Last session I had a few children whose parents were skeptical, since online school was a 𝘋𝘐𝘚𝘈𝘚𝘛𝘌𝘙 (in their words). ⁣ ⁣ —> They ended up being the ones who enjoyed and looked forward to each session the most. They were so engaged and their parents were shocked at how much they loved it .⁣ ⁣ I hope that helps to clarify how Kids Corner might be the right place for your child, even if they’re “Zoomed out” and didn’t have the best experience with online learning.⁣ ⁣
