Empowering Kids, Building Their Self-Esteem, and Expressing Emotions

One way I help 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 and improve their 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 and 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗺 is by
Reminding them that THEY ARE:
And they can make
What better way to do this than to have them say it 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗗 & 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗗 for all to hear?!
Here is a clip of one of the kids from Kids Corner 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥𝘭𝘺 and 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 participating in our “𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿”
We end 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 Junior session with this cheer.
It’s one of my 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨 of Kids Corner.
𝗜 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗿 𝟭-𝗼𝗻-𝟭 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 “𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸-𝗶𝗻”
Here’s why I do it:
It normalizes sharing feelings
It gives me a good idea of what I should focus on for that session
In a group setting, it’s a great way to start conversations about feelings like anger, sadness, anxiety, and have kids share their experiences with these “big emotions”
(Don’t mind my makeshift “standing desk” lol)
